Safe From Mother Nature

The stormy clouds congregate into one dark gloomy cloud.

Once again , yellow strikes reappear in the sky where you can't see.

Once people hear the signal, that's when they flee inside.

The rain is inpatient, smashing on the door trying to enter the house.

Doors shut, so no entry for the rain and I am snuggled inside.

Safe.

Storm Poetry

Thunder and Lightning
by Kai Heng

Thunder sparks,
BOOM! BOOM!! BOOM!!!

Rain and hail knocks on the door.
God suddenly growls in anger.
Grim clouds explode as loud as bombs,
Howling leaves and windows shake.
Family dinners disturbed by flickering lights.

BOOM!BOOM!!BOOM!!!

Blinding Sky

By Tyler

Blinding dark sky up above.

People scampering indoors
To take shelter.
Lightning charging across the sky.
Thunder smashing objects like a fist.
But I'm safe.

Senior CHOIR

The Senior Choir is made up of 47 Year 5 and 6 students.
Currently the choir is learning over 12 different songs for a combined schools concert later in the year.
Five local schools are all learning these songs as well as an individuals school choir item per school.
These photos show the choir in practice on the last day of term.
Children were allowed to wear 'street clothes' [mufti] as a reward for a very busy, active and successful term.

ST JOHN visited to teach us about FIRST AID

The whole school enjoyed learning about different aspects of first aid.
Room 2 especially enjoyed practising to phone the 111 operator and giving information and receiving instructions.
In groups of three or four we had turns being the patient, the first aider and the 111 operator.
Taking instructions over the phone and following them correctly to put the 'unconscious patient' on their side [recovery position] was also a valuable lesson.
The fake blood and hand bandaging session was great also and learning how to think and speak clearly in an emergency was important.
Jacob, Rhiannon and Kelvin thoroughly enjoyed being volunteers and acting out specific parts, and Dylan sounded very confident and professional in his thanking Ms Hyland on behalf of everyone.
Thank you again to the St John Ambulance instructors who came to school.
